California Academy of the Sciences is home to the Steinhart Aquarium, the Natural History Museum, and the Morrison Planetarium. It is located in San Francisco's legendary Golden Gate Park. Steinhart Aquarium is an aquatic world of 165 individual tanks exhibiting more than 6,000 representatives of diverse underwater environments. From African Penguins and Coral Reefs to Ancients and Invertebrates to Reptiles, Angelfish and Seahorses the aquarium has it all. Permanent Exhibits at the Natural History Museum are African Hall, Human Cultures, Far Side Gallery, Life Through Time, T. Rex, Insect Room, Wild California, Earth & Space, Mineral Hall, Earthquake!, Africa Experience, and Elkus. Hours: Daily, 10:00 am–5:00 pm; Closed: May be closed major U.S. holidays Directions: MUNI/BART to Powell Street Station.
